About this deal

This Ultra HD Blu-ray set affords a pair of remarkable native 4K presentations - culled from the 4K restoration MGM did from the original camera negative a few years back - for both the theatrical and director's cuts, on separate discs no less, further blessed with Dolby Vision. The enormous amount of bonus features found in that set make their way to this one too, including a 43-page booklet.

Although crime rates are currently at the lowest in history, 'RoboCop' is a thoughtfully penetrating glimpse at the worst traits of modern society, making it an excellently enjoyable satire that remains as relevant today as ever before. The family find themselves stranded, and at the mercy of a group of monstrous cannibals lurking in the surrounding hills. With a memorable performance by Peter Weller as the titular character, the thoughtfully penetrating film remains a wildly entertaining actioner. And of course that seminal score is absolutely tremendous, defining this sci-fi action classic, and rounding out a nice little Dolby Atmos track which is faithful to the original stereo and four-channel mixes (both of which are available as options, along with the Blu-ray's Master Audio 5.We reviewed the UK 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray release of Robocop on an LG 55B7 Dolby Vision 4K Ultra HD OLED TV with a Panasonic DP-UB820EB-K Dolby Vision HDR10+ 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray player . I suppose someday someone will compare and contrast the nature of film critiques between the almost-all-on-print era and the almost-all-on-film era, if they haven’t done so already. Part machine and part man, the cyborg cop is the literal representation of the story's theme, where human workers become expendable and are easily replaced. The Theatrical Cut and Television Cut don't feature these moments because of the violent content so they're not an issue in those presentations.

Among the bonus features are commentaries from Craven, stars Michael Berryman, Janus Blythe, Robert Houston, Susan Lanier and Dee Wallace, academic Mikel J. From an original script by Edward Neumeier and Michael Miner, the film takes a cynical view of the future right from the onset with the deliberately rocky opening of a newscast relating the day's terrible events with noticeable detachment and unconcerned smiling faces. Courtesy of Arrow Video, the 80s cult action classic relocates to the crime-ridden streets of Ultra HD equipped with a beautiful 4K Dolby Vision HDR presentation and an awesome Dolby Atmos audio option, delivering a notable upgrade over its HD SDR predecessors. But first, OCP must clean up the streets to attract other businesses and low-wage workers, which means designing some kind of super cop with the latest technological advancements. As he did years later with Starship Troopers, the Dutch filmmaker wonderfully balances camp and vulgarity for the blackest of comedic effect with the excessive displays of ultra-violence. Robocop walks past a frosted window then shows a spike extending from his fist to a worried looking man. A thin-layer of grain is also consistently visible, providing the image with an appreciable cinematic appeal. For this UHD edition, Arrow Video ports over the same outstanding collection of supplements as their 2019 Blu-ray release and spread across both UHD discs.

Medium levels of grain are tighter with additional depth, rarely if ever spiking, with only minor bits of speckling which are difficult to spot at times. Supposedly struck from the original unrated elements and remastered at 4K resolution, the picture quality is a massive improvement over previous home video editions, displaying sharp details in buildings, furniture, and clothing. Low-frequency effects are generally appropriate with some mild impact, but don't expect a heavy punch or a commanding presence. But back and forth comparisons undoubtedly give this UHD edition the win, looking cleaner and sharper overall with a more refined grain structure that's largely consistent throughout.

The future of law enforcement meets the ultimate high-definition experience - now remastered on Blu-rayT for flawless sound and spectacular image quality! Among the bonus content featured on the collection are a documentary titled Full Circle: Preserving The Godfather, which follows Paramount Pictures archivists as they detail the film’s restoration process with footage showing the evolution of the film through various releases. mix offers plenty of immersion in its own way providing clean dialogue and impactful resonant sound effects. Rich, deep black levels are most impressive with outstanding detailing within the darkest portions of the frame, giving the entire presentation some depth.Surrounds are occasionally employed for a variety of well-placed atmospherics that are generally quite satisfying and with surprisingly great directionality.
